It's Almost Time

A few days.  That’s all I have.  A few days before I board a plane and embark on this new journey to London, England to study abroad.  My bed is littered with clothes I need to pack and my “don’t forget to pack” list is becoming smaller and smaller as I get closer to being ready to leave.

I have many emotions that are twisting around in my stomach right now.  A couple of the nerves that are propelling the butterflies I have are greatly overshadowed by the excitement I’m feeling.  I’ve been wanting to return to London since I took a trip abroad in high school and my bucket list item of studying abroad is finally coming true.  I’m looking forward to meeting new people and seeing the sights that have been dreaming about.  As the countdown to leaving has become smaller, people keep asking me how I feel.  I can’t help but shoot them a giddy smile and tell them that I can’t wait to go.  And it’s the truth.  I’ve worked hard to get to this point and I’m not going to attempt to hide my excitement.

I feel really lucky to be getting this opportunity to study abroad in London.  It’s been my dream for many years now and for me, this just reiterates that I can achieve my dreams if I have the courage to chase after them.  Going abroad can be a little scary but I wasn’t going to let that nervousness stop me from beginning his amazing new adventure.
